JD and Mommy's Fun Day!

The weather in San Antonio has been absolutely beautiful this week (sunny and in the mid 70's!) so JD and I decided to take advantage of this unusual January weather.  We decided to go ride the zoo train and stop at the Japanese Tea Gardens to see the coy ponds.  JD was SO very excited to ride the train and could not wait to see the "fisheys".  There weren't a lot of people there (not surprising since it was a Thursday morning) so we had the train pretty much to ourselves.  JD's eyes lit up when the engineer said "All Aboard!" and he continued to say it for the next 5 minutes.  The train needed gas, so we got to stop at the depot and watch the engineer fill up the tank.  So fun!  We finally got to the Japanese Tea Garden....I cannot believe that I have lived in San Antonio for 8 years and have never been here before.  It is beautiful!!  It is an old rock quarry that was transformed into a little paradise filled with coy ponds, flowers, and even a waterfall!  JD fed the fish some of his goldfish and they loved them.  It was a little scary though...they didn't have great railings and it was very hard for a 2 year old to hold his mommy's hand the whole time!  But, he was amazed by the waterfall and all of the rocks.  After we fed the fish, we left the garden and we went to wait on the train to take us back to the zoo.  It was a great day!  JD woke up this morning and asked if we could go back and ride the train and feed the fish again today!
