Anna Katherine has arrived!

Well, sometimes even the best made plans fall apart.

This is the case with our sweet Anna making her grand arrival into the world!   Apparently, my "full term" is 37, not 40, weeks since both JD and Anna were born at 37 weeks!

It's amazing how each child is born into this world with his or her's own story, in their own way.  I swear I knew JD would be a huge sports fan (which he is) when the Aggies victory over tu spurred his arrival.

But, Anna, I am not exactly sure what made her decide to come 3 weeks early.  Was it the Mexican food I ate the night before?  Was it the fact that I had been having contractions, almost daily, since Thanksgiving and she was just ready?  Regardless, she is here!  She is perfect and beautiful and we are so thankful to our amazing Heavenly Father for this incredible gift.

Here's the story...

On Friday, I started having contractions around 3:30 in the afternoon.  They weren't consistent, long, or super painful, so I just assumed they were Braxton Hicks.  But, they never stopped.  Even when I went to bed around 11, I was still having them every 10-15 minutes.  Probably should have called the doctor, but I am a rule follower and I did not meet the written "guidelines for being in labor" so I didn't.

Around 3:45 am I was awoken by the strangest sensation of my life...gushing water!  I jumped out of bed and woke up Robert by yelling, "I think my water just broke!"  My sweet husband, being the know- it -all that he is, said, "There would be way more fluid if your water broke."  Now,  how would he know that?  I responded with, "Well, either my water broke or I suddenly have zero control over my bladder."  We both agreed it was time to call the doctor.   The doctor said to come on into the hospital and they would run a test to see if I was leaking amniotic fluid.  So, we woke up JD, grabbed our half-packed bags and headed on up to Methodist.

Anna Katherine Pease arrived on January 16, 2010 at 7:53 am!  She was 7 lbs 3 oz and 19.5 inches long.

Here are some pictures of our sweet Anna.  These were taken by me and our sweet friend, Bobby , who is a professional photographer.  Aunt Kim and Aunt Kristy took some great pictures of Anna with the rest of the family and I will post them as soon as I get them.
