After work I was still having consistent contractions and we decided I should probably call Dr. Cox. Luckily, he was the doctor on call and he agreed that I should probably head on up to the hospital. My mom and dad had spent Thanksgiving with us in San Antonio and were still in town, thankfully!
We got to the hospital and they determined I was definitely in the very early stages of labor. I was scheduled for a C-Section 3 days later, so Dr. Cox decided that since we were already there, we should go ahead and have a baby. And, at 8:44 pm on Friday, November 24, 2006, John Dennis Pease entered the world and changed our lives forever. Dr. Cox sang "Happy Birthday" to him in the OR. It was a moment I will never forget.
JD, you bring so much joy to our lives and you make us laugh every day! We love watching you explore and learn new things. You constantly amaze us and we are so proud to be your mom and dad. We love you more than words can express and cannot wait to experience life with you!
Things you love now...
- Baseball, baseball, baseball
- The Polar Express
- Building things
- Playing "pretend" anything
- Fire trucks
- Tractors
- Chocolate donuts with sprinkles
- Bacon
Funny things you have said this year:
"Mommy, I want a 2 splenda latte."
"Is Baby Anna a girl? Is she wearing lipstick?"
JD: "I want a new, big tractor"
Me: "If you go potty in the big boy potty, I'll buy you a new tractor."
JD: "I'll just wait for Santa to bring it."
JD: "Mommy, am I having a bounce house at my birthday party?"
Me: "No, because you don't like bounce houses."
JD: "But my friends do!"
Happy Birthday, JD! We love you!
And, I am pretty sure Robert is worried about me watching the Aggie game on Thursday. Going to labor at 30 weeks is NOT a good plan!
