Pumpkin Patch and other Fall fun!

Earlier this week Nana and Papa John were in town and we decided to take a road trip up to Bandera, Texas and visit Love Creek Orchards and their fun pumpkin patch!  It was a BEAUTIFUL day and we had a blast!

Their main business is apples, so not only did we get to play in the pumpkin patch, but we also got to go on a tour of the orchards, see where apples come from, and learn how to make apple cider!

And, get excited...the Peases have recently purchased a "new" camera from our friends who were upgrading to a new one, so I have lots of pictures.  Please remember, though, that this camera is very advanced for us and the pumpkin patch was my first experience with it, so I am still learning.  Hopefully I will get better with time!

I actually got JD to stand still, pose, AND smile.  A small miracle...

Twice in one day...someone must have bribed this kid with halloween candy!

Here's a shot of the orchard.  I love this part of Texas!

Papa John and JD headed for trouble, I'm sure!

This crazy turkey had no fear.  He loved Papa John playing the spoons! (And so did JD)

A wooly sheep.  Enough said.

Papa John and JD checking out the chicken coop.

Nana and JD learning about the apple orchard.

My favorite picture ever.  It looks like he is listening to the lady explain how they grade apples and make cider, but really he's planning out a clever way to get a sample of the juice.  Nana was there...all he had to do was ask her.  No clever attempts needed!

Hey look!  Mom got into a picture!

Taking a tour of the orchard on a hay ride.  Looks like Papa John is passing on some wisdom to JD!

Finally, a persimmon tree.  For a brief moment I forgot I was in Texas and thought I was in California!

Happy Fall!
